At our rescue stations, you’ll find warning flags indicating the current sea conditions. We understand that safety on the water is crucial, so here’s what each flag means. We want you to enjoy your day at the beach safely. Remember these flags and their meanings to recreate responsibly. Safety comes first!

RED-YELLOW FLAG

This indicates that the beach section between these flags is being patrolled, and water sports are prohibited here.

YELLOW FLAG

This flag warns that swimming is dangerous and is only recommended for individuals with swimming certificates. The use of floating objects is prohibited.

RED FLAG

The red flag means that swimming and bathing are absolutely prohibited.

BLACK AND WHITE CHECKERED FLAG

This flag indicates that this is the zone for water sports activities between the flags.

QUESTION MARK FLAG

When this flag is raised, it means that a child has been found missing their parents or caregivers. The child is safe with the lifeguards.

ORANGE WINDSOCK

The orange windsock warns against taking floating objects into the water, usually due to strong offshore winds.
