Duinoord Beach Access is the best-equipped beach entrance in Den Helder, with ample parking in the vicinity, its own Beachclub de Citadel, and a lifeguard station during the summer season. There are many nature reserves in the immediate vicinity, such as “Donkere Duinen” and “MariĆ«ndal.” Duinoord has a beautiful, wide beach and is often visited by tourists and the residents of Den Helder in the summer. This beach entrance has the Blue Flag certification and is monitored.

At the exit to the restaurant Steakhouse Duinoord at the end of Jan Verfailleweg, there is ample free parking available. From the parking lot, a wide paved path leads to the beach entrance.
The beach is most easily accessible by bicycle, where you can find ample bicycle parking. From the bicycle parking area, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the beach.
During the summer season, the Coast Bus (851) runs from the Den Helder train station to this beach entrance, with a bus stop at restaurant Duinoord. It’s a 10-minute walk to the beach from this stop.
The access road to the beach is completely paved and easily accessible with a wheelchair. There is a beach wheelchair available at the beach pavilion that you can use to easily navigate the beach. It cannot be reserved and is free to use.
